As always, it is still my contention that the one attribute the world and many Christians cherish – being nice – is not an attribute of God.

If you disagree, prove me wrong. Find me one major Bible translation that uses nice as a Godly attribute. I’ll challenge you one step further: There is only one major English translation that ever uses the word nice and it uses nice a total of:

(Ta-da…) One time…

(Ouch…) …in a negative way.

Good luck proving that a Godly attribute is nice. If you make the assertion that God is nice then the charge is on you to show me scripturally where that is true.

No, I’m not saying go around being mean. Obviously. But to make “nice” a goal is almost always the opposite of what we should do. Truth trumps nice.

The Godly people of Scripture were truthful when they were doing God’s work. They were rarely nice. And God doesn’t think nice is an attribute even worth mentioning in His entire 66 books of the Bible.

So why is nice so important to the world? For the same reason political correctness is so important to the world – Being nice hides and deflects truth as a general rule.
