If you own a business, whether that means you sell a few things on eBay or you own an international, multi-billion dollar media conglomerate, or even if you’re married to a small or large business owner (it maters not what business you’re in), you have no excuse not to have a book.
Even if you’re in the carpet cleaning business. Or a doctor. Or a hair salon owner.
Note: A book holds extra business-boosting power for any service-oriented business.
And let me give you a huge insider’s secret. Especially if you work in any “mundane” business such as one of those carpet cleaning businesses, you really need a book! Because you’ll stand out as the industry’s expert. For the most part, nobody else in a field like that is going to have a book.
You’re Not an Expert? Yes You Are
You’re an expert in whatever you do. Sure, there may be 20 others in your town doing what you do. Still, to the general public who wants to know how to do simple things related to your business, you’re an Expert!
Not only will you help readers who want to know more about how to do something in your field, but you’ll enhance your own business with your book. How many business owners have books? (Trump does! Love him or hate him, he’s done fairly well.) By being a published author in your field, you not only make a few bucks from your book but you add credence to your business and to you as the leader of your business.
Huge Tip:
Get your eBook up and selling on Amazon and elsewhere and then publish physical copies of your book.
Tip: Use your book as a calling card for new clients!
Or perhaps you can send new customers your book as a thank-you gift for trusting your company with an order. The fact you’re an author enhances your company’s reliability and abilities. The “halo effect” of being a published author earns you massive trust that your competitors have to work harder to earn.
Can’t Write? Dread a Long Book?
An eBook means you record into a voice recorder thoughts. Then you hire an Editor to massage that recording into readable words. Online are tons of editors ready to work for cheap. (You should probably pass them by me for a quick review of their services before you pay, however.) Any local college’s stable of English teachers consider themselves to be the best editors on earth. (They are almost always wrong on every issue imaginable. But they can sometimes do a cheap and decent job of editing.)
Once your recorded words are transcribed and edited into a Word document, the rest is easy. Easy Breezy!
Open a Publisher’s account at Amazon and jump through their hoops – I can help if you need it – and your eBook will be up for sale in hours. A week later, your physical book will be for sale too.
