The answer is either #1 or #2 depending on your taste buds.
Pasta comes in all sizes and shapes precisely because the various shapes and sizes cause the sauce and cheese to adhere to pasta differently. Also, your taste buds experience different angles of flavor depending on the pasta’s shape. It’s naive and somewhat ignorant of the best-tasting food on earth to think that all pasta made from the same ingredients taste the same when shaped differently.
I bet you won’t make that rookie mistake again!

How Would You Like Your Milk?
Milk added to coffee experiences the same flavor differences depending on how you prefer it.
Hot milk adds an entirely different flavor to coffee from that of cold milk. Steamed “frothed” milk adds an entirely different flavor.
I despise the taste of cafe latte, coffee with warm milk. But froth the very same coffee and the very same milk, injecting some air bubbles into about a third of it, all at the same temperature as that horrid latte and I fall in love with each cup. (There are exceptions!) You can also put cold milk in coffee, either as a cream addition or to make it a cold latte and I love it! I love the flavor as much as I despise the flavor of the same coffee and the same milk when the milk is warm as in a latte.
Depending on atmospheric pressure, humidity, and temperature, milk for cappuccino will differ in consistency from day to day. When I can only produce a latte, Jayne says, “It’s great!” while I say, “Ugh!” When I can produce a perfect cappuccino, Jayne says, “It’s great!” while I say, “It’s better than great!”
Same milk. Same coffee. Same amount of both. Just different temperatures and possibly different amounts of air injected into the milk.
When I brew non-espresso coffee to put in the fridge for iced coffee, I love it with or without milk. Jayne doesn’t prefer it any way. Temperature plays a role in taste and enjoyment.
Butterflies are Free
Did you know that pasta shaped like a bowtie – often and incorrectly called bowtie pasta – is properly named farfalle paste? (To be 100% accurate, especially if in Italy, prefer the word order of paste farfalle over farfalle paste.)
But farfalle is not Italian for bowtie.
Farfalle means butterfly. In English, it’s accurately called butterfly pasta, or best, farfalle.
