NCIS is getting tiresome. It’s not just Ziva’s departure either. There are only so many ways they can make up a unique way of killing somebody and tie it however loosely to someone in the Navy. Plus it’s going to be difficult to make up more back stories without it seeming to be just a story mechanic gimmick.
Speaking of Ziva, she didn’t make the show but she was good. She did complete a good ensemble that worked with her and that isn’t working quite as well without her.
She was only the second actress in history to fill in for a past star’s departed position flawlessly.
The other was Monk’s new assistant who, by her second episode, you’d completely accepted her and forgotten all about the first assistant.
Replacement Actor FAIL
The worst replacement acting gig in history was Darren Stevens on Bewitched decades ago. Out of the blue, they just replaced the actor without any explanation or story change.
The second worst acting gig replacement was Roseanne‘s older daughter Becky Conner, again without explanation of any kind.
To make that replacement even fail worse, they switched back and forth between the two actresses (Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke) starting in season 8 when the first one became available once again. That was just nuts but Roseanne is nuts in real life (not in the good way) so one could expect a historic television epic fail there.
