RadarOnline reported today that O.J. Simpson is going on a hunger strike. He is depressed and wants to kill himself.
The State Has a Responsibility to Such Prisoners
Suicide should be illegal and one of the most effective punishments for attempted suicide should be corporal punishment. A painful beating would eliminate almost all faux attempts at attention, also known as “most suicide attempts.”
“The law is the great teacher.” When a nation properly outlaws and punishes a behavior, the nation gets less of that behavior. No person has the right to take another’s life. No person has the right to take his own life.
The state should immediately punish O.J. Simpson if he follows through on his publicly announced hunger strike.
The State Has a Responsibility to Victims
Once punished, the state should, within 24 hours, put O. J. Simpson to death for brutally slicing his former wife’s and her boyfriend’s throats. The death should be fairly swift but painful.
