Christians and non-Christians often bring up arguments against even arguing about homosexuality when the topic comes up. A comment they often say: “Well what about adultery? Why aren’t you complaining about adultery?” (What about theft? What about murder? These are sins too, perhaps we shouldn’t argue against them either?)
That argument is nothing but a cop-out for Christians and a diversion for non-Christians. I agree that adultery is a sin but to use that as an argument against arguing on homosexuality is just nonsense. How in the world can that be a valid argument?
Christians already lost the battle against adultery. We put our heads in the sand in favor of tolerance and look where that got us. Adultery is a part of everything you see. It is now accepted behavior by people, including Christians. We surrendered that battle.
Where’s Your Line?
Christians have to draw a line in the sand somewhere.
Christianity and homosexuality can not stand together; they are mutually exclusive. If your argument is that “homosexuality” was not mentioned by Jesus or anywhere in the New Testament then my answer is that you need to read the New Testament again. Paul spoke about “women did change the natural use into that which is against nature,” and “men leaving the natural use of the woman.”
If you don’t like Paul’s inspired words, perhaps you care what Jesus said? Jesus was clear when he said if they don’t listen to Moses, who wrote most of the criminal justice laws against sodomy, they won’t even be convinced with the resurrection. It was Jesus who said “all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses.” Sodomy was condemned in the Old Testament and Jesus said in the NT that He supported “every jot and tittle.”
A Slippery Slope? No, a Cliff!
If we let homosexuality win then it won’t be long until the next battle is waged. Legalized bestiality, incest, and other sexual deviant behaviors are the next step.
Christians! If we don’t stand and be vocal on Biblical principles, some time, we will end up being Sodom and Gomorrah which we are already close to being.
Look how it turned out for them.
