[by Ketosis and Probiotics by Greg Perry]
If you aren’t also fixing your gut’s microbiome, you’re working against any benefits the ketosis does for you. Yes, the keto will still benefit most who try it. And ketosis helps your gut’s microbiome. But your gut is the foundation of getting food’s energy and nutrients into your system. With bad bacteria in your gut, as opposed to good bacteria, you’re not going to lose weight as well, you’re not going to feel good, if you have autoimmunities they will be extremely difficult – or impossible – to heal, and your overall longevity will be hampered.
You can do probiotics… You SHOULD take them. And not the cheap, Walmart ones. BUT if you don’t consume regular amounts of lacto-fermented foods, ketosis won’t have the full foundation it needs to otherwise improve virtually everything about your body.
Pro- and Prebiotics
In addition to eating lacto-fermented foods such as kefir, true sauerkraut, real sour cream, whole fat grass-raised butter, whole milk cheeses, and such, these days you need the extra protection that you can easily get through high-quality probiotics and prebiotics.
My problem is that I figure if I’m going to pay for moderate quality, I can pay just a little more to get the best quality. So, what I do that.
First, you don’t want one probiotic. You want to rotate them, and, better, take a different two from three or four different bottles daily. Some last in your gut longer than others, both prebiotics and probiotics are needed (although many are called “probiotics” generically).
Here’s What I Take
I take a different two each day, except I cycle off vitamins, minerals, and nutrients on Sundays. To keep it mixed up and to keep my body never adapting too much to one kind, always change up and always cycle off a day.
The All-Time #1:
The all-time tops, at least available for general consumption, is VCL #3.
Its cost means that many people will take it only every couple or three days, rotating it in with other kinds.
Yep, it’s on Amazon here.
Note: Never order it when the summer heat hits in the 90s. They ship it in cold packs, but 90-100 degree heat battles those cold packs too much.

A Close Second:
Just Thrive’s great because its absorption is one of the greatest possible.
Also, their K2-7 is one of the nutrients none of us get enough of (or even know about for the most part).
