Ever been to a movie and the picture was off track or the sound was muted or some other major annoyance was going on with the movie?
If so, you know what happens… absolutely nothing for a long time! Nobody, including you, leaves the movie to tell the employees of the problem. This is due to a number of factors.
Nobody wants to miss anything in the movie in spite of the problem. Most think someone else is going to go. And many suspect the theater management must know about the problem because the Projectionist has to be on the ball or he or she wouldn’t be there!
The fact is, much of the Projectionist duties these days is computerized and the Projectionist has seen your movie so much already that he just isn’t sitting there looking for problems to solve. Once he starts your movie, he has others to start as most are multi-screened these days, his smoke break is coming up, he’s got to return his girl friend’s text message, and you are about as high on the priority list as a snake’s little toe.
So here’s how to make that problem far easier in the future! Right now, put the phone number of each theater you go to regularly in your cell phone’s address book. When a problem occurs, dial and smile from your seat! Nobody will care and if anybody says anything tell them you’re calling the theater and you’ll be the hero of the moment.
This kind of problem has happened to us perhaps 5 times in our adult life so it’s not a major thing, especially if you don’t see a lot of movies. But by but spending two minutes now to enter the numbers, then if it does happen to you in the future your theater will know far sooner about the problem and you won’t have to leave the auditorium and miss anything to get the problem corrected
